For over a century Zetatrade has provided decorative cover materials to the Swedish market, from exclusive leather and gold leaf for unique editions to modern solutions tailored for industrial production. Over the years, we have carefully combined quality and innovation with a natural focus on sustainability.
It all began in 1917, when Claude J. Zethraeus founded his one-man company specializing in trading leather and gold leaf for hand bookbinding. In the 1950s, the product range expanded with an exclusive series of handmade design papers and under the leadership of Yngve Zethraeus Sr. the company changed its name to Zethraeus Trading AB.
In the 1960s, the company took its next major step by introducing hot stamping technology and industrially produced graphic materials that became cost-effective alternatives to gold leaf and leather. As the use of gold leaf evolved, the gilding business was further developed through Z Förgyllning AB, a close collaboration that still exists today.
At the end of the 1960s, Yngve Zethraeus Jr. took over the business and laid the foundation for what is now Zetatrade AB. Under his leadership the company expanded alongside the growing manufacturing industry. The product range was broadened and refined to meet the evolving needs of the market, helping solidify our strong position.
Since 2009 Ann-Charlotte Zethraeus Höglund has led the company into a new era of growth and renewal. Zetatrade AB has since become a well-established Nordic full-service provider and a trusted partner for companies with the highest demands for surface refinement solutions.
